In June 2009, we said goodbye to another dear friend, Mary Stoll. Mary was sweet, loving, and one of the most humble women I have ever known. She showed the love of Jesus to everyone she met. During our years of prison ministry, the inmates all loved her. In fact, they called “Mother Mary!” They knew she truly cared about them and whenever she was allowed, she took them some of her wonderful cooking – cookies, cakes, rolls, etc. Mary loved to laugh and have a good time and we had many good times when we were together.
Mary was only sixty years of age when she went home to be with Jesus. She had battled Leukemia for over a year, but God chose to take her home to be with Him. All through her illness, Mary kept saying, “I just want God’s will in my life.” She loved the Lord with all of her heart and served Him every day. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Ginny, expresses a few things we will always remember about Mary:
"When I Think Of Mary Stoll…"
I Think Of: Beautiful Quilts and Various Other Gorgeous Handmade Items - Melt-In-Your-Mouth Homemade Rolls - THE BEST Peanut Brittle in the WORLD!! - Incredible Pies and Assorted Pastries - Steamy, Soft, WONDERFUL Breads - Delicious Jams, Jellies, & Apple Butter to put on the Wonderful Breads - Noodles Better Than Any Italian Ever Dreamed of Making - In General ~~ OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD FOOD
But, Mostly, I Think Of: LOVE ~ Love for her Lord, first and foremost - Love for her Family and Friends - Love for and Sweet Acceptance of Others around her - SERVICE ~ With a Servant’s heart, she delights in serving others; putting others before herself. While she has all of the “Martha” abilities, she is more appropriately named, MARY (Luke 10) The Virtuous Woman (Proverbs 31: 1 – 31) FRIEND ~ Though Tim & I have not been able to spend a lot of time with Mary and her family, they have always made us feel so comfortable, so welcome, and so loved. We have received so much intense love and acceptance from the Stolls, we feel more like family than company. GRATITUDE ~ THANK YOU for being exactly who you are…MARY STOLL…Beloved!!! We love you!

It seems as if it was only yesterday, and I was four years old sitting on an old wooden pew on a muggy July Sunday, when I first heard the Holy Spirit tugging at my heart.
My mom had just finished the offertory on one of those big Hammond organs that m
ade the windows rattle and I wept as my father preached. The moment he gave the altar call, I hurried to the altar and gave my heart to my Jesus. I've tried to figure out how a four year old feels conviction, but I knew for sure that it was the voice of Jesus calling me to Him, and that choice was one of the most important decisions I've made because it started me on a path of obedience to the will of God in listening to His voice.
I have found that whether in joy or sorrow, in health or looking in the face of death, in completeness or brokenness, my God has been faithful. Had I not been attuned to the voice of God at the age of four when it was easy, I might have missed hearing His voice during some of my most critical crossroads.
It really is only through suffering that we are privileged to experience such a sweet fellowship with Christ. A scripture that just makes me sing with joy is 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 "Therefore we do not loose heart though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
Because He is faithful, we experience His grace, daily.
On October 8, 2008, the Lord took our dear friend,
Marla Miracle home to be with Him.
Marla was not only a beautiful Christian, but she was an inspiration of all of us. Even though she hadn’t experienced a day without pain for more than 5 years, she never gave up. She kept on smiling. She kept on singing. She kept on keeping on for the Lord. Many times we would have to literally help her up to the platform in order for her to sing with By Grace, but no one in the audience knew she was hurting so badly. Her brilliant smile and tender compassion for everyone else outshined any pain she was feeling. Her testimony gripped the hearts of anyone who heard it. We will miss her terribly, but we know we will see her smiling face again when we meet her in heaven one of these days. She will be there to welcome us home.
